When selecting the submittal date, please note that the schedule provides the appropriate Planning Commission date. BCC dates are not available at this time. However, the BCC dates will only apply to preliminary plats, or projects that do not require platting. The final plats must be reviewed by the Water and Sewer Department, Public Works, and Department of Growth Management prior to being placed on a BCC agenda.

Please submit the final plat to the Department of Growth Management. The Department of Growth Management will be responsible for collecting the signatures from the Planning Commission, BCC, Clerk of Circuit Court, and the Public Works Department. The Planning Staff will also be sure to have the Water and Sewer Department and Public Works Department review the final plat before placing it on the BCC agenda. The 911 address coordinator will receive a copy of the final plat from the planning staff.

For variances, grandfathers, administrative appeals, or special exceptions that do not require Planning Commission, or Board of County Commissioners approval see the individual deadline sheet for the BOA.

Suppose any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at these hearings. In that case, such person will need a record of the proceeding and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Okaloosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the County Commission office described above and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the hearing in order to provide the requested service.
