Commissioner Sherri Cox is a lifelong resident of Northwest Florida, an active parent to three school-aged children, and is passionately dedicated to defending each citizen's constitutional rights and economic opportunity while preserving the region’s culture, values, and natural beauty for generations to come. She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi on a full scholarship as a classically trained musician, double-majoring in Music Performance and Chemistry for Pre-Medical Sciences. Her continued love for the arts is evidenced by her participation in local choirs and orchestras, including her role in the choir at one of the area’s oldest churches.
A longtime member of Mensa, Commissioner Cox is recognized for her business acumen, branding prowess, and dynamic problem-solving skills. While working her way through college, she built a successful career in business, political, and real estate development consulting, where her contributions have helped to shape the continued beauty and economic success of our area. Throughout her career, she has championed constitutional rights, property rights, and meaningful growth that preserves the beloved and varied cultures and historical charm of Northwest Florida.
Deeply rooted in public service, Commissioner Cox serves on the Board of Trustees at her church and has served on numerous Military Affairs Committees, local chambers of commerce, and nonprofit organizations. Recently re-elected to a second four-year term as State Committeewoman for the Florida GOP, she also serves as Vice Chair of the party’s Budget Committee, reflecting her leadership and lifelong commitment to fiscal responsibility.
