PROPOSED FLOOD MAP CHANGES
NOTE: If a property in which you are interested is in one of the incorporated cities or towns you can still use the portal, below, to access flood information regarding your property; however, you will need to contact your city or town hall if you have concerns.
Click on the pdf map below of the area you live in. Zoom in to locate your property and follow the following:
Areas outlined in BLUE – please go to the portal for the details: http://portal.nwfwmdfloodmaps.com/ and if you have any concerns please contact the jurisdictional city or town hall
YELLOW - the subject property is being taken out of a flood zone
ORANGE - the property is currently in a flood zone and will remain in a flood zone, but the designation and/or base flood elevation (BFE) may have changed - please go to the portal for the details: http://portal.nwfwmdfloodmaps.com/
RED - the property has been designated as being in a flood zone, please go to the portal for the details: http://portal.nwfwmdfloodmaps.com/
PINK – these are areas within Zone X that have a 0.2% probability of flooding every year and are also known as the "500-year floodplain". While properties in X0.2% are considered to be at moderate risk of flooding under the National Flood Insurance Program, flood insurance is not required for properties in this zone, and local floodplain zoning ordinances do not apply. However, some lending institutions may require flood insurance. Please go to the portal for additional information: http://portal.nwfwmdfloodmaps.com/
NO COLOR - the property is in a zone X and will remain in a zone X (no change)
